IV. Various nouns and verbs are used to connect inde-
pendent sentences.
Such are 'pinne' [=(at) an after period, afterwards]; 'káraṇam'
(= cause); 'atu nimittam' [= that (being) the reason]; 'atu kára-
ṇam' [= that (being) the cause]; 'atu koṇṭu' [= taking this (into
consideration)]; 'ennatu koṇṭu' [=taking (into consideration)
what is said above] etc. All these though standing as adjuncts
to a following verb shew a reference to some previous sentence.*
