ചെന്നിരുന്നു.

ഭക്ഷിപ്പാന്തുടങ്ങുമ്മുന്നെ അവൻ ഗൃഹസ്ഥനെ പോലെ സ്തോത്രം പറ
ഞ്ഞു അപ്പത്തെ വിഭാഗിക്കുന്നേരത്തു അവർ കണ്ണു തുറന്നിട്ടു ഗുരുവെ അറി
ഞ്ഞു കണ്ട സമയം തന്നെ അവൻ മറഞ്ഞു. അവരോ സംശയം എല്ലാം വെ
ടിഞ്ഞു, നമ്മോടു വഴിയിൽ സംസാരിച്ചു വേദങ്ങളെ തെളിയിക്കുമ്പോൾ ഉള്ളിൽ
ഹൃദയം ജ്വലിച്ചിരുന്നില്ലയോ എന്നു ചൊല്ലി, താമസിയാതെ നഗരത്തി
ലേക്ക് ഓടി ചെന്നു അവിടെ ൧൦ ശിഷ്യരേയും മറ്റും കണ്ടു, കൎത്താവ് എഴുനീ
റ്റു സത്യം: ശീമോന്നു പ്രത്യക്ഷനായി എന്നു എതിരെ വിളിക്കുന്നതു കേട്ടു,
അവൻ പിന്നേയും തങ്ങളോടു ചേൎന്നു നടന്നു അപ്പം മുറിക്കയാൽ അറിയാ
യ്വന്നപ്രകാരം അറിയിക്കയും ചെയ്തു.

ആ യവനന്മാർ ഇരുവരും കൎത്താവെ കണ്ടതിന്മുമ്പെ അവൻ ശീമോ
ന്നു പ്രത്യക്ഷനായി എന്നു തോന്നുന്നു. എല്ലാവരിലും അധികം അവന്നു ആ
ശ്വാസംകൊണ്ടു ആവശ്യമായിരുന്നുവല്ലോ. പ്രത്യക്ഷതയാൽ (൧ കൊ. ൧൫,
൫) കൎത്താവു അവനോടു പാപമോചനത്തെ അറിയിച്ചു പോൽ. അവനെ
പിന്നേയും അപ്പോസ്തലസ്ഥാനത്തിൽ ആക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ഉടനെ ഹിതമായി
തോന്നീട്ടില്ല. അവന്നു കേഫാവെന്നല്ല ശീമോൻ എന്ന പേർ അല്ലോ അ
പ്പോൾ നടപ്പായിരുന്നതു. യേശുവെ വെറുത്തു പറഞ്ഞതിന്നു ക്ഷമയും സമാ
ധാനവും ലഭിച്ചതു അന്നേ ദിവസത്തേക്കു മതിയായിരുന്നു.

കൎത്താവു ൧൦ അപോസ്തലരുടെ കൂട്ടത്തിൽ പ്രത്യക്ഷനായതു.

LUKE XXIV. 36 And as they thus spake, Jesus himself stood in the midst of them, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you. 31 But they were terrified and afright- ed, and supposed that they had seen a spirit. 38 And he said unto them, Why are ye troubled ? and why do thoughts arise in your hearts? 39 Behold my hands and my feet, that it is I myself: handle me, and see; for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have. 40 And when he had thus spoken, he showed them his hands and his feet. 41 And while they yet believed not for joy, and wondered, he said unto them, Have ye here any meat? 42 And they gave him a piece of a broiled fish, and of an honeycomb. 43 And he took it, and did eat before them.

JOHN XX. 19 Then the same day at evening, being the first day of the week, when the doors were shut where the disci- ples were assembled for fear of the Jews, came Jesus and stood in the midst, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you. 20 And when he had so said, he shewed unto them his hands and his side. Then were the disciples glad, when they saw the Lord. 21 Then said Jesus to them again, Peace be unto you: as my Father hath sent me, even so send I you. 22 And when he had said this he breathed on them, and saith unto them, Receive ye the Holy Ghost. 23 Whose soever sins ye remit, they are remitted unto them ; and whose soever sins ye retain, they are retained. 24 But Thomas, one of the twelve, called Didymus, was not with them when Jesus came 25 The older disciples therefore said unto him, We have seen the Lord. But he said unto them, Except I shall see in his hands the print of the nails, and put my finger into the print of the nails, and thrust my hand into his side, I will not believe.
