(Dative.) Kéraḷattil vázhunna manushyar 'swarggavásikaḷkkŭ'
tulyar (=the inhabitants of Malabar are equal to those of
paradise).
(Locative.) itu 'malanáṭṭilé' rájávŭ (= this is the king of the
hill country); 'véṭaril' pradhánan ńán (= I am the chief of
the hunters).
iv.) The substituted-form of nouns.
Ex: itu 'Deivattin' vilásam tanne (= this is the providence of
God); púrvašikha 'paradéšattu' nishiddham (= the wearing
of the top-knot in front is an offence in other countries).
v) Pronominal nouns.
Ex: (tán) 'sádhu tánavan' tanne [= he pre-eminently is (may
be called) a good man].
enr̥e bhóshatwam 'tanné' ńán anggóṭṭu chennu par̥ańńatu
[=what I went and said there was my folly 'alone' (lit. 'it-
self')].
vi.) The definite numeral nouns with and without 'ám.'
Ex: suhrŭllábham ennatu 'raṇṭám' tantram (= that called the
acquisition of friends is the 'second' tantram); kottonnu kaṇṭam
raṇṭu (= one blow should be two pieces, i. e. should be suffi-
cient to cleave in two).
vii.) The indefinite numeral nouns.
Ex: (ellá) váḷeṭuttavar ar̥upattunálu grámattil 'ellárum' alla
(=it was not all the people of the sixty-four villages who took
the sword).
(etrayum) 'etrayum' nannu kasháyam [= the decoction is 'very'
(lit. ever so much) good].
