വ്യവഹാരമാതൃക, യുടെ. s. Legal procedure or pro-
cess in general, simple judicature, law as in all ordinary
cases administered.
വ്യവഹാരമാൎഗ്ഗം, ത്തിന്റെ. s. A title of jurisprudence,
see വ്യവഹാരവിഷയം.
വ്യവഹാരമാല, യുടെ. s. The Vyavaháramála or code
of laws by which judicature is to be regulated and de-
cisions to be made.
വ്യവഹാരം, ത്തിന്റെ. s. 1. Law-suit, litigation, a
cause, contest at law. 2. argument, reasoning. 3. civil
administration of public affairs. 4. practice of the courts
of civil and criminal law, judicial procedure, administra-
tive justice as the examination of evidence, &c. 5. usage,
custom, profession, business. 6. steadiness, propriety,
adherence to law and custom. 7. title of jurisprudence,
act cognizable in courts of justice. വ്യവഹാരം ചെ
യ്യുന്നു, To administer or conduct public affairs. വ്യവ
ഹാരം പറയുന്നു, To dispute, to litigate, to claim.
വ്യവഹാരവിധി, യുടെ. s. Law, the law, the precepts
or code by which judicature is to be regulated and de-
cisions to be made.
വ്യവഹാരവിഷയം, ത്തിന്റെ. s. A title of juris-
prudence, an act which may become the object of dispute
among men, and should therefore be regulated by law:
according to Ménu there are eighteen heads, but these
are the principal only, and many things not comprised
under them may still be actionable: the eighteen are, 1.
ഋണദാനം, debt; 2. നിക്ഷെപം, deposit; 3. അ
സ്വാമിവിക്രയം, sale without ownership; 4. സംഭൂ
യസമുത്ഥാനം, concerns amongst partners; 5. ദന്ത
സ്യാനയകൎമ്മം, subtraction of what has been given;
6. വെതനാദാനം, non-payment of wages; 7. സമ്വി
ദഃവ്യതിക്രമം, non-performance of agreement; 8. ക്ര
യവിക്രയാനുശയം, rescission of sale and purchase;
9. സ്വാമി പാലയൊൎവിവാദം, disputes between
master and servant; 10. സീമവിവാദം, disputes about
boundaries; വാക്പാരുഷ്യം, defamation, abuse; 12.
ദണ്ഡപാരുഷ്യം, assault; 13. സ്തെയം, theft, lar-
ceny; 14. സാഹസം, robbery and other violence; 15.
സ്ത്രീസംഗ്രഹണം, adultery; 16. സ്ത്രീമ്പുധൎമ്മം,
duties of man and wife; 17. വിഭാഗം, portioning of
property, inheritance; 18. ദ്യൂതം, gambling of any kind
as fighting animals, laying wagers, &c.
വ്യവഹാരസഭ, യുടെ. s. A hall of judgment, a court
of justice.
വ്യവഹാരസ്ഥലം, ത്തിന്റെ. s. A court of judgment.

വ്യവഹാരിക, യുടെ. s. 1. Usage, custom. 2. a brush,
a broom.
വ്യവഹാരികം, &c. adj. 1. Customary, usual. 2. engaged
in customary duty or avocation. 3. connected with or re-
lating to legal process. 4. litigant, being party to a suit.
വ്യവഹാരി, യുടെ. s. 1. A disputant, a litigant. 2. a
plaintiff, one instituting or engaged in a dispute at law.
3. one following his ordinary affairs or avocation.
വ്യവഹിതം. adj. 1. Placed or situated contiguous to,
attached or adhering to, &c. ചെൎന്ന, ഉൾപ്പെട്ട. 2.
covered, concealed. മറെക്കപ്പെട്ട.
വ്യവായം, ത്തിന്റെ. s. 1. Copulation, coition. സം
യൊഗം. 2. covering, disappearance. മറവ.
വ്യസനപ്പെടുന്നു, ട്ടു, വാൻ. v. n. To be sorrowful, to
grieve, to suffer pain or calamity.
വ്യസനം, ത്തിന്റെ. s. 1. Sorrow, grief, affliction,
agony, pain, melancholy, sadness. 2. calamity, misfortune.
3. fate. 4. fault, vice, crime, frailty. 5. intent applica-
tion or attachment to an object, vehement desire.
വ്യസനാൎത്തം, &c. adj. Afflicted or suffering pain or
calamity. ദുഃഖിക്കുന്ന.
വ്യസനീ. adj. Addicted to evil practices, as gaming,
drinking, &c. ദുൎന്നടപ്പുള്ള.
വ്യസ്തപദം, ത്തിന്റെ. s. Perplexed and indistinct
statement, want of precision in an accusation or defence
(in law.) തെളിവകുറഞ്ഞ വ്യവഹാരം.
വ്യസ്തം, &c. adj. 1. Confounded, confused, bewildered.
ഭ്രമിക്കപ്പെട്ട. 2. pervaded, penetrated, spread. വ്യാപി
ക്കപെട്ട. 3. present and essential, or inherent in all
the parts of any thing, in opposition to the Samasta, or
that which pervades the whole together.
വ്യളീകം, ത്തിന്റെ. s. 1. Pain, torture. വ്യസനം. 2.
deceit, delusion, trick, tricking, cheating. 3. fault, trans-
gression. കുറ്റം. 4. any thing displeasing. 5. any im-
proper act. adj. 1. Disagreeable, displeasing, offensive.
2. improper, unfit to be done. 3. painful. 4. strange.
വ്യാകരണക്കാരൻ, ന്റെ. s. A grammarian.
വ്യാകരണം, ത്തിന്റെ. s. Grammar.
വ്യാകുലപ്പെടുന്നു, ട്ടു, വാൻ. v. a. 1. To grieve, to
sorrow, to suffer pain, or calamity. ദുഃഖിക്കുന്നു. 2. to
be perplexed, confounded, bewildered. ഭ്രമിക്കുന്നു.
വ്യാകുലം, ത്തിന്റെ. s. Grief, distress, anxiety, per-
plexity, confusion. adj. Perplexed, confounded, be-
wildered, overcome with fear. ഭ്രമിക്കപ്പെട്ട.
