ártthaka, disguised as Chandalas act as the pretend-
ed executioners of Chandanadása,
Sakatadása, the agent and secretary of Rákshasa,
Dáruvarmma, a carpenter and mechanician; one of Rákshasa's
adherents. He contrives the fall of the triumphal

Karbüraka, an elephant driver, an adherent of Rákshasa's who
joins with Dáruvarmma, in the plot to kill Chandra-
gupta, [Preface].
Bhayadatta, a physician who at Rákshasa's instigation tries to
poison Chandragupta.
Pramódaka, an agent of Rákshasa's in the city of Páțaliputra
Stanakalaśa, a bard, employed as an emissary by Rákshasa,
Bibhatsa and his companions, assassins employed by Rákshasa, they dig a mine
under Chandragupta's palace, and are discovered and
destroyed by Chánakya,
