On reference to these documents, it appears that in the month
of Karkidagam, the deceased was attacked with fever in the
1st. instance and subsequently with lockjaw and was confined
to his bed for 15 days, and that he died on the 27th. of the same
month. It is not however shown that the death of the deceased
is to be attributed to the effects of blows received by him in a
quarrel with the aforesaid Velloo.
The Paramba in which the deceased lived is the property of
Chattarryatta Nambooddri, and the abovementioned Velloo
possessing a mortgage claim thereon, allowed the deceased
who had married his daughter to live in it.
On the extinction of the heirs of the said Chattarriyatta
Nambooddry's family, one Vayacoonnuta Nambooddri attempt-
ed to take possession of the estate, upon which Aragoomparatta
Nambooddri alleged that he was the proper person to succeed
to it. While matters were in this state, the death of the de-
ceased occurred, and his son wanting to bury him in the above
Paramba, on the ground that it had been mortgaged to the
deceased during his life time by Aragoomparatta Nambooddri,
Velloo the abovementioned mortgagee prevented him from do-
ing so, upon which the charge in question has been got up
against him by the Aragoomparatta Nambooddri to forward the
views of the son of the deceased. I do not however entertain
any suspicion against the accused, and I accordingly bring the
circumstances of the case to your Honor's notice.

latter part of June and beginning of July. പനി fever, s. n. സന്നി
lockjaw, s. n. മുടങ്ങുന്നു to be hindered, to be kept from moving, v. n.
കുടിയിരിക്കുന്നു to reside in v. n. കാണ അവകാശം a mortgage
