ത്വം ഭൂമിയിൽ വിളങ്ങുമ്പോൾ ഇസ്രയേൽ അവനെ നിരസിക്കും എന്നു ദൎശി
ച്ചു കൊണ്ടിരുന്നു. ഇങ്ങിനെ സ്വന്ത ജാതിയെ കുരുടാക്കുന്ന ന്യായവിധി
യഹോവയുടെ നീതിക്കു ദൃഷ്ടാന്തം തന്നെ.

എങ്കിലും യേശുവിന്റെ വാക്കു നിഷ്ഫലമായി വീണു എന്നു നിരൂപിക്ക
രുത്. അതു ചിലരിൽ ജീവന്നായി ഫലിച്ചത് ഒഴികെ പല മഹത്തുകളും കൂട
യേശു മശീഹ എന്നു ഉള്ളിൽ നിശ്ചയിച്ചു. പിന്നെ സഭാദ്രംശത്തിന്നു ഭയ
പ്പെട്ടും ദൈവത്തോടുള്ള മാനത്തെ അല്ല ലോകരോടുള്ള മാനം തിരിഞ്ഞുംകൊ
ണ്ടു ഏറ്റുപറയാതെ പാൎത്തു. യേശുവോ തന്റെ ഉപദേശത്തിൽ ഒക്കയും ത
ന്റേതല്ല പിതാവിന്റെ മാനവും മഹത്വവും അത്രെ അന്വേഷിച്ചും, തന്നിൽ
വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നവൎക്ക് ലോകത്തൂടെ നടക്കുന്ന മാൎഗ്ഗത്തെ വെളിച്ചമാക്കി കൊ
ടുത്തും, വാക്കിലും ഉച്ചാരണത്തിലും തനിക്ക് ബോധിച്ചതല്ല പിതാവ് നല്കു
യതത്രെ പറഞ്ഞുംകൊണ്ടിരിക്കയാൽ അവന്റെ വചനത്തിൽ നിത്യജീവത്വം
ഉണ്ടു. വിശ്വസിക്കാത്തവൎക്കും അവനവൻ കേട്ടതു തന്നെ ശിക്ഷാവിധിയാ
യ്തീരുകയും ചെയ്യും. എന്നിങ്ങിനെ യോഹന്നാൻ ഗുരുവിൻ വേലയെ നോക്കി
ഫലാഫലങ്ങളെ വൎണ്ണിച്ചതു. യേശുവോ പ്രവാചകവേലയെ തീൎത്തു പെസ
ഹയിൽ പുരോഹിതനായി ചമവാൻ ഒരുമ്പെടുകയും ചെയ്തു.

THE PASCHAL SUPPER AND THE INSTITUTION OF THE HOLY SUPPER.

a) The ordering and preparation of the Paschal Supper.

പെസഹഭോജനത്തെ കല്പിച്ച് ഒരുക്കിയതു.

MATT. XXVI. 17 Now the first day of the feast of unleavened bread the disciples came to Jesus, saying unto him, Where wiltthou that we prepare for thee to eat the pas-sover? 18 And he said, Go into the city to such a man, and say unto him, The Maste r saith, My time is at hand; I will keep the passover at thy house with my disciples. 19 And the disci- ples did as Jesus had appointed them; and they made ready the passover.

MARK XIV. 12 And the first day of unleavened bread, when they killed the passover, his disciples said unto him, Where wilt thou that we go and prepare that thou mayest eat the passover? 13 And he scendeth forth two of his disciples, and saith unto them, Go ye into the city, and there shall meet you a man bearing a pitcher of Water: follow him. 14 And wheresoever he shall go in, say ye to the goodman of the house, The Master saith, Where is the guestchamber, where I shall eat the passover with my disciples? 15 And he will shew you a large upper room furnished and prepa- red: there make ready for us. 16 And his disciples went forth, and came into the city, and found as he had said unto them: and they made ready the passover.

LUKE XXIII. 7. Then came the day of unleavened bread, when the passover must be killed. 8 And he sent Peter and John, say- ing, Go and prepare us the passover, that we may eat. 9 And they said unto him, Where wilt thou that we prepare? 10 And he said unto them, Behold, when ye are entered into the city, there shall a man meet you, bearing a pitcher of water; follow him into the house where he entereth in. 11 And ye shall say unto the good- man of the house, The Master saith unto thee, Where is the guestchamber, where I shall eat the passover with my disciples? 12 And he shall shew you a large up- per room furmished: there make ready. 18 And they went, and found as he had said unto them: and they made ready the passover.
