to consist in the fact that soobramonia iyer has omitted a great deal of the prehistoric matter whichhas made Mi Sankoony Menon's otherwise valu-able History in English somewhat repugnant tomany a matter of fact reader. I have with much pleasure gone through Mr.Soobramonia Iyen's sketch of the History of Trivan-core, and am glad to say that the book exhibits considerable labour and thought It is written in good idiomatic malayalam. The author has very wisely confined himself to stating facts and wherever he has ventured to give his opinion he has been careful to avoid extremes. I have no doubt that the book will be appreciated by the Travancore public. The author has my best wishes.
