309. What other means of conjunction besides 'um' are
there for joining sentences?

Sentences and sub-sentences are connected chiefly by
the use of verbal forms which relate to both sentences.

310. What are the chief of these means of conjunction?

I. The adnounal participle of any verb may not only
form the predicate to the nominative which governs
it, but will serve also to connect the sub-sentence thus
formed with the sentence of which the completion of
the adnounal participle forms a part.

Ex: anujan cholliya vákkatu kéṭṭu (=he heard the word
which his younger brother said); avan bhakshikkumpóḷ nášam
