vi.) All the oblique cases except the accusative and
genitive.

Ex: akattu chennu (= he went inside); váḷál veṭṭi (= he cut
him down with his sword); bráhmaṇanóṭu parańńu (= he
spoke with the brahmin); périni inikku raṇṭuṇṭu (=there
are two other names of mine, lit. to me); ánamélninnu ir̥anggi
(= he descended from the elephant); már̥il aṇińńu (= she
wore it on her breast).

vii.) Sanskrit neuter adjectives and certain Sanskrit
indeclinables.

Ex: bhrŭtukutukam chirichchu (= he laughed heartily); mudá
chollinán (= he spoke pleasantly); ittham parańńu (= he spoke
thus); mandamandam naṭakoṇṭán (= he walked very slowly).

These are the chief.

240. What may form adjuncts of the subject and adjuncts
of the object?

Any of the above; if the subject or object be a noun,
their adjuncts may be any of those mentioned as used
with noun-predicates, and if the subject or object be
a verb, any of those mentioned as used with verb-
predicates.


Ex: i. (Adnounal participle as adjunct to the subject.) 'véṭṭa'
bráhmaṇan oru nikshépam kaṇṭu (= the 'married' brahmin
found a treasure).

ii. (Concessive as adjunct to the subject) 'vipattiláṇíṭilum' víran
asára kárryam tunińńíṭumó?' (= will a hero, though in distress,
do an unworthy action?)
