Ex; akalunnitu, vannitu, ávitu, ar̥iyunnitu, tírnnitu, póvutu.
These are sometimes used in place of the finite verb.

A neuter participial noun may be formed by the ad-
dition of 'onnu' also.

Ex: Singular: 'iṭunnonnu' (=that which puts), 'cheytonnu'
(=that which does), 'iripponnu' (=that which is).

Plural: 'irunnó chilava', 'irippó chilava'.

SUBJUNCTIVE AND CONCESSIVE.

146. What is the subjunctive?

It is the form of the infinitive verb which is used to
denote a supposition upon which something else is
consequent.

147. What is the form of the first subjunctive?

If 'ál' (= ákil) is added to the adverbial past parti-
ciple, the subjunctive is formed.

Ex: áyál (= if I, you, he, she, it, we or they be), útiyál (= if I
etc. blow) (= útinál), pukkál (= if I etc. enter), 'koṭuttál'
(= if I etc. give).

148. How is the second subjunctive formed?

The Second subjunctive is formed by adding 'il' the
affix of the locative case to the first verbal noun.

The final 'a' is elided.

Ex: ákil (= if I etc. be), varikil, cholkil, koṭukkil; similarly
we may say onnukil (=if it so happen).
