It is in the case of certain old defective verbs; these
have lost their verbal force (i.e. the idea of action or
assumption of a new state) and are now used only to
shew qualities or attributes, and no idea of time being
attached to them they are used without the temporal
affixes. This form might be called the "aoristic" ad-
nounal participle.

Ex: nalla (= which is good), valla (= which are a few),
pazhaya (= which is old).

143. What is the form of the adnounal future parti-
ciples?

The two future tenses (finite) are used also as ad-
nounal future participles. 'A' the proper affix of the
adnounal participles is not used in this case.

Ex: i. (The 1st future) ákum kálam, ámpól (= the time which
will be), koṭukkum néram (= the time when he will give); in
these examples the verbs, ákum, am (= which will become),
koṭukkum (which will give) are adnounal future participles.

ii. (The second future) ávólam [= till it will become, (lit. to
the) measure when it will become], póvóḷam, marippóruvan
(= one who will die); in these examples the verbs á(vu)
[= which (or when it) will become], pó (vu) [which (or when)
it will go], mariippu (= who will die), are adnounal future
participles.
