138. What is the form of the future adverbial parti-
ciple?

It is formed by adding the affix 'án' to the second future
tense (finite).

Ex: ákuván (or áván) (= about to become, or to become),
ar̥iván (=about to know, or to know). These are evidently
formed by adding the affix 'án' to the second futures 'áku' (or
ávu) and 'ar̥ivu'.

139. Is there any present adverbial participle?

Yes; it is met with preceding the auxiliary verbs
'uṇṭu', and 'illa'. Its form is the same as that of the
finite present.

Ex: pókunnuṇṭu (=I am going), varunnuṇṭu, cheyunnuṇṭu.
pókunnilla (= I am not going), varunnilla, cheyyunnilla.

In these pókunnu (=going), varunnu (=coming), and
cheyyunnu (=doing), are evidently verb-requiring
present participles, since they require the verbs uṇṭu
(=I am) and illa (= I am not), to complete them.

THE ADNOUNAL PARTICIPLE.

140. What is the adnounal, or noun-requiring participle?

The adnounal or noun-requiring participle is that form
of the infinitive verb which requires a following noun
to complete the sense.
