ഹണിപ്പോക്കു esp. green stools (superst.).
൬ മണി സമയം കുട്ടികളെ പുറത്തു കൊണ്ടു
പോയാൽ പുള്ളു നോക്കിക്കളയും No. superst.
പുള്ളൂന്നി, (— ണ്ണി) No. (expl. with: holding on
as a bird does by its claws) = പുല്ലുണ്ണി.
പുള്ളേറു emaciation of children caused by the
influence of an ominous bird പു. ഏല്ക്ക,
also പുള്ളുബാധ (തട്ടി), പുള്ളുനോക്കിന്ന് ഉ
ഴിക etc.
പുള്ളേറാമരം a tree “avoided by birds”;
its fruit is tied on the waist-string of
children.
പുള്ളി puḷḷi T. M. (= പുള്ളടി? C. Te. Puḷḷi,
a thin piece of grass, straw = പുല്ക്കൊടി). 1. A
dot, spot, point പൂച്ചത്തോലിൽ പു. കുത്തി പു
ലിത്തോൽ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു VyM. പു. യുള്ളൊരു
പട്ടും തരുവാൻ SG. (= വീരാളിപ്പട്ടു). പു. പു. യാ
യിരിക്ക to be much spotted. ആരിയപ്പു. a
kind of spots on cattle. കടകം പുള്ളിക്കാള with
spots on the neck, belly & feet (claimed by
Rājas) — (also N. pr. of places f. i. പരുത്തി
പ്പുള്ളി). 2. the mark െ in gram., the vowel
എ. 3. a cipher, nought. 4. an article or
person, and their valuation. ചെറു പു. a
trifle. — പാറാപ്പു. a prisoner.

പുള്ളിക്കാരൻ (4), നല്ല പു. a man of note, influen-
tial = തറവാട്ടുകാരൻ. — പു’ക്കാർ Trav. tax-
payers. — പുള്ളിക്കാരത്തി f. = തറവാട്ടുകാര
ത്തി, also beautiful.
പുള്ളിക്ക V1. to be spotted, speckled.
പുള്ളിക്കുത്തു flaw in cloth, etc.
പുള്ളിച്ചി f. (1) M. spotted f. i. പു. പ്പശു.
പുള്ളിത്താപ്പു a private mark of price on cloth.
പുള്ളിപ്പുലി a leopard; this as well as പുള്ളി
നരി are considered royal property KU.
പുള്ളിപ്പുലിയൻ N. pr. a Paradēvata.
പുള്ളിമാൻ a spotted deer. പു’ങ്കണ്ണി SiPu. പു’
ങ്കരനു പോലുമാമല്ല RC. to Siva. — also പു
ള്ളിമറിമാൻ Sil.
പുള്ളിവസത്രം spotted cloth as given after പുങ്ങം.
പുള്ളിവിളക്കം So. 1. examination of accounts.
2. registration of anything in the names
of persons after ascertaining their rights.
B. (പുള്ളിവിളങ്ങുക).
പുള്ളിയാരൻ N. pr. a deity of mountaineers.
പുള്ളുവൻ puḷḷuvaǹ (പുൾ). N. pr. A caste
employed in medicine, മന്ത്രവാദം, singing at
snake-groves the പുള്ളുവപ്പാട്ടു accompanied by
the tap of the പുള്ളുവക്കുടം; the females (പു
ള്ളുവത്തി) are midwives in the No. (61 in Ta-
liparambu Talook).
പുഴ pul̤a M. C. (aT. പുഴ = പുര tube, hollow,
പുഴൽ hollow, watercourse. C. poḷe to shine =
പൊഴുതു). 1. A river (in N. pr. of places ആ
ലപ്പുഴ, വരാഹപ്പുഴ). നല്പുഴ വരുത്താതേ KR.
Ganga. പെരിങ്ങളോനാണ്ട പുഴ നീന്തേണം TP.
an ordeal. പുഴക്കലോളം വന്നു vu. 2. So. a
gap in a wall = കണ്ടി.
പുഴക്കലേഗ്രാമം (ചിറ്റൂർഅംശം, തെക്കേത്തറ)
N. pr. of a Grāmam which was founded
and given over by Tunǰattel̤uttaččaǹ in the
17th century A.D. to a few Brahman families
on condition that they preserve & reverence
his writings copied by his daughter. The
Bhāgavatam excepted all the originals
were burned in a fire 30-40 years ago and
have since been replaced.
