IMPERATIVE MOOD.

First and Third person Singular and Plural. ആകട്ടെ, ഇരിക്കട്ടെ.
Second „ Singular ആക, ഇരിക്ക.
„ „ Plural ആകുവിൻ, ഇരിപ്പിൻ.

INFINITIVE MOOD.

ആകുവാൻ, ഇരിപ്പാൻ.

PARTICIPLES.

Present. ആകുന്ന, ഇരിക്കുന്ന.
Past. ആയ, ഇരുന്ന.

2nd. ഉണ്ട is conjugated by the help of ആകുന്നു and ആയിരി
ക്കുന്നു; thus,

Present ഉണ്ടാകുന്നു, ഉണ്ടായിരിക്കുന്നു.
Past ഉണ്ടായി, ഉണ്ടായിരിക്കുന്നു.
Future ഉണ്ടാകും, ഉണ്ടായിരിക്കും.

3rd. കൊണ്ട. The use of this particle, in modifying the tenses
of Verbs, will be explained hereafter.

4th. മാറ18 is a particle, signifying habit, readiness, or fitness.

This participle, to be used with the principal verb, must be prefixed to
ഉണ്ട, or ആകുന്നു. In this state it is affixed to the Future tense, or
Infinite Mood. If to the Future tense, the last letter of the Verb must
be cut off and the particle affixed; as, from പൊകും, will go; അവൻ
പൊകുമാറായി, or മാറായിരിക്കുന്നു. He is prepared to go.

If affixed to an Infinitive, the last letter of the Verb and the മാ, of
the particle are dropped, and the remaining letters coalesce; as, from
പൊകുവാൻ, to go; അവൻ പൊകുവാറാകുന്നു, He is on the point
of going. അവൻ പൊകുവാറുണ്ട, He is in the habit of going.

5th. ആം is a particle signifying resolution, consent of ability. It is
annexed to the principal word thus: First, to Verbal Nouns to which യും
has been added; as from സഹായിക്കുന്നു, to help, സഹായിക്കയും
ആം; this form is then used as a verb. Secondly ആം is affixed to the
Future tense of verbs from which the last letter has been previously
removed; as, from സഹായിക്കും, will help; സഹായിക്കാം. Either
