When two or more passive verbs occur in the same sentence, the rules
for placing them is the same as in the active voice; thus,
ൟ പശു വില്ക്കപ്പെട്ട അതിന്റെ വില ദാരിദ്ര്യക്കാൎക്ക കൊ
ടുക്കപ്പെടുവാനുള്ളതായിരുന്നു.
This cow ought to have been sold, and its price given to the poor.
അവിടെ ചെന്നാൽ താൻ അടിക്കപ്പെട്ട കൊല്ലപ്പെടും.
If you go there, you will be beaten and killed.
Passive verbs may be placed in connexion with other verbs; but in
most cases it is better to make separate sentences, or to put the passive
verb into the active form;
അവൻ ആ സ്ത്രിയെ കൊന്നത കൊണ്ട തൂക്കപ്പെട്ടു.
He was hanged, because he killed that woman.
അവൻ പാമ്പിനാൽ കടിക്കപ്പെട്ട പത്ത ദിവസം കഴി
ഞ്ഞപ്പൊൾ മരിച്ച പൊയി.
He died ten days after he had been bitten by a serpent.
ക്രിസ്തു സ്വൎഗ്ഗത്തിൽനിന്ന ഇറങ്ങി മനുഷ്യനായി തീൎന്ന
നമുക്ക വെണ്ടി കുരിശിൽ തറെക്കപ്പെട്ട മരിച്ചു.

227. Of Affirmative Defective Verbs.
1st. Examples of the use of വെണം.
നമ്മുടെ അടിയെന്തിരത്തിന്ന ഇത വെണം.
This is necessary for our business.
യജമാനൻ പറയുന്നതൊക്കയും ഞാൻ ചെയ്യെണം.
I must do all that Master commands me.
നീ വെല ചെയ്കയും മിനക്കെടാതെ ഇരിക്കയും വെണം.
You must do your work without being idle.
2nd. Of വെണ്ടി.
അത് വെണ്ടുന്ന കാൎയ്യം ആകുന്നു.
That is a necessary affair.
വെള്ളം വെണ്ടുവൊളം ഉണ്ട. There is plenty of water.
ഞാൻ നിന്റെ വീട്ടിൽ പാൎക്കെണ്ടുന്നതാകുന്നു.
I must dwell in your house.
