2nd. വരെ, is generally used in the same sentence with മുതൽ; in
which case, ഉം is added to വരെ: sometimes വരെ takes a dative ter-
mination; thus,
കന്യാകുമാരി മുതൽ കൊച്ചി വരെയും, or, വരെക്കും ഞാൻ
നടന്നിട്ടുണ്ട.

കണ്ണൂർ മുതൽ ത്രിശ്ശൂർ വരെയുള്ള ജനത്തിൽ പതിനാ

175. തൊട്ട is used,
1st. With nouns in the nominative case, and with adverbs in the
same sense as മുതൽ; thus,
ആയാണ്ട തൊട്ട അവൻ കരം കൊടുത്തുവരുന്നു.
He has been in the habit of giving tax from that year.
അത കെട്ടന്നുതൊട്ട എൻ മനസ്സിൽ വിഷാദം തുടങ്ങി
യിരിക്കുന്നു.

2nd. തൊട്ട, is used with വരെ in the same sense as മുതൽ; thus,
ആലപ്പുഴതൊട്ട കൊല്ലം വരെയും വള്ളത്തിൽ തന്നെ
പൊയി.
