The following verbs require nouns in this case; as,
ഞാൻ നിന്നൊട അപെക്ഷിക്കുന്നു. I pray you.
അവൻ അവരൊട ക്ഷമിച്ചു. He forgave them.
അവൻ അവളൊട സംസാരിക്കും. He will speak to her.
അവരൊട ചൊദിക്കണം. Ask them.
അവൻ അവരൊട അപ്രകാരം കല്പിച്ചു.
He so commanded them.
അത ഇതിനൊട ചെരുന്നു. That matches this.
അവൻ രാജാവിനൊട മത്സരിച്ചു.
He rebelled against the King.
ഞാൻ അവരൊട ചൊദിക്കും. I will ask them.
അവർ അവരൊട കൊപിച്ചു.
They were angry with them.
അവൻ അവനൊട പകച്ചു. He hated him.
In a few instances verbs require this case of the noun, in the sense of
from; as,
ഞാൻ അവനൊട കടം കൊണ്ടു.
I borrowed from him.
അവൻ അവനൊട അത മെടിച്ചു. or വാങ്ങിച്ചു.
He got that from him.
അവൻ ബലാല്ക്കാരമായിട്ട അവനൊട അത പിടിച്ച
പറിച്ചു.
He seized it from him by force.
3rd. ABLATIVE.
149. This case is used in several acceptations; but its primary mean-
ing is in; as,
ഞാൻ ദൈവത്തിൽ വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നു. I believe in God.
ആ മനുഷ്യനിൽ ഇനിക്ക ആശ്രയമില്ല.
I have no confidence in that man.
ആ രാജാവിന്റെ കാലത്തിങ്കൽ രാജ്യം സൌഖ്യമായി
രുന്നു.
The kingdom was prosperous in that king's time.
