ADVERBS.
138. Besides the adverbs that are naturally such; as, ഇവിടെ here, &c.
some are formed from nouns by adding ആയിട്ട to the nominative; as,
| ഉറപ്പ, | Steadfastness. | ഉറപ്പായിട്ട, | Steadfastly. |
| ബലം, | Strength. | ബലമായിട്ട, | Strongly. |
| സത്യം, | Truth. | സത്യമായിട്ട, | Truly. |
| പരമാൎത്ഥം, | Sincerity. | പരമാൎത്ഥമായിട്ട, | Sincerely. |
In a few cases adverbs are formed from nouns, by dropping the last let-
ter of the noun and adding എന; as,
| ഉപായം, | Craft. | ഉപായെന, | Craftily. |
| ദിവസം, | Day. | ദിവസെന, | Daily. |
| വെഗം, | Quickness. | വെഗെന, | Quickly. |
