തൊരു വൎത്തമാനവും കേളായ്കയാൽ അയ്യാൾ അതിന്നു മുമ്പേ മരിച്ചു പോയി
രുന്നു എന്നു നിനെപ്പാൻ സംഗതി ഉണ്ടു. എങ്കിലും മറിയയല്ലാതെ സഹോ
ദരന്മാരും വീട്ടിൽ ഉണ്ട് എന്നു കേൾക്കുന്നു (യോഹ. ൨, ൧൨; മാൎക്ക. ൩, ൩൨).
അതാർ എന്നാൽ യാക്കോബ് യോസ യഹൂദാ ശീമോൻ എന്നവർ തന്നെ
(മാൎക്ക. ൬, ൩; മത്ത. ൧൩, ൫൫). സഹോദരിമാരും ഉണ്ടു. ഇവർ മറിയ പെറ്റ
മക്കൾ തന്നെയോ ജ്യേഷ്ഠാനുജന്മാരുടെ മക്കളോ എന്നതിനെ ചൊല്ലി വൈദി
കന്മാർ രണ്ടാം നൂറ്റാണ്ടു തുടങ്ങി ഇന്നോളം കഠിനമായി തൎക്കിച്ചു പോന്നു.
ജ്യേഷ്ഠാനുജമക്കൾ എന്നു വാദിക്കുന്നവരുടെ അഭിപ്രായം ആവിതു: യേശു
വിന്റെ പോറ്റച്ചനായ യോസേഫിന്നു ഹല്ഫായി എന്നും (മത്ത. ൧൦, ൩.) ക്ലോ
ഫാ എന്നും (യോ. ൧൯, ൨൫) പേരുള്ള ഒരു ജ്യേഷ്ഠനുണ്ടായിരുന്നു എന്ന് ഒരു
പുരാണ ശ്രുതി ഉണ്ടു (ഇരുവർ ബന്ധുക്കളായിരുന്ന പ്രകാരം വേദസാക്ഷ്യം
ഒന്നും ഇല്ല താനും). എന്നാൽ സുവിശേഷത്തിൽ യേശുവിന്റെ സഹോദര
