(vide Chain G) Jesus rejected at Nazareth. Jesus again rejected at Nazareth.

Turning our attention now to the series of events, preceding the stilling of the tempest, we are informed by Mark (C) that the journey to Gadara took
place on the evening of the same day, in which Jesus had been engaged in the delivery of parables, while Matthew (B) tells us of Our Lord's conversation
with two would-be-followers, happening within the few minutes between the giving of the order to cross the lake and the actual departure (Matthew 8, 18. 23.).

On the other hand, we have the direct statement of Matthew (G), that on the same day, in the course of which the delivery of the parables took place,
Jesus had healed a blind and dumb Demoniac, had rebuked the blasphemy accusing Him of acting in concert with Beelzebub, had then been asked to give
a sign from heaven, and that finally, while Jesus was still speaking to the people, His mother and brothers wanted to see Him. Besides he mentions,
that soon after the delivery of the parables Jesus visited Nazareth, and was rejected, —a remarkable coincidence with Mark C. For although it had been
left unnoticed by Matthew, that those parables were delivered just before the journey to Gradara, he yet remembers, that Christ's rejection at Nazareth
happened shortly after the day of the parables, quite in concurrence with the statement of Mark in Chain C.

Thus we are led to the formation of another Compound-Chain, whereof the above diagram comprised but the second half. The whole presents now
the following aspect:
