140 THE FIRST THREE MONTHS’ LABOURS IN GALILEE. [PART III. CHAP. II.

Matt. IX.

saw it, they said unto his dis-
ciples, Why eateth your Master
with publicans and sinners?

12. But when Jesus heard
that, he said unto them, They
that be whole need not a phy-
sician, but they that are sick.

13. But go ye and learn what
that meaneth, I will have mer-
cy, and not sacrifice: for I am
not come to call the righteous,
but sinners to repentance.

Mark II.

for there were many, and they fol-
lowed him.

16 And When the scribes and Pha-
risees saw him eat with publicans
and sinners, they said unto his dis-
ciples, How is it that he eateth and
drinketh with publicans and sinners ?

17. When Jesus heard it, he saith
unto them, They that are whole have
no need of the physician, but they
that are sick: I came not to call the
righteous, but sinners to repentance.

Luke V.

30 But their scribes and
Pharisees murmured against
his disciples, saying, Why do
ye eat and drink with pub-
licans and Sinners ?

31 And Jesus answering said
unto them, They that are whole
need not a physician; but they
that are sick.

32 I came not to call the
righteous, but sinners to re-
pentance.

JESUS AGAIN AT NAZARETH AND AGAIN REJECTED.

യേശു തിരികെ നചറത്തിൽ വന്നു തള്ളപ്പെട്ടതു.

MATT. XIII.

53 And it came to pass, that when
Jesus had finished these parables, he
departed thence.

54 And When he was come into his own
country, he taught them in their synagogue,
insomuch that they were astonished, and
said, Whence hath this mam this wisdom,
and these mighty works?

55 Is not this the carpenter’s son ? is not
his mother called Mary? and his brethren,
James, and Joses, and Simon, and Judas?

56 And his sisters, are they not all with
us? Whence them hath this man all
these things?

57 And they were offended in him. But
Jesus said unto them, A prophet is not
without honour, save in his own country,
and in his own house.

58 And he did not many mighty works
there because of their unbelief.

MARK VI.

1 And he went out from thence, and came into his
own country; and his disciples follow him.

2 And when the sabbath day was come, he began
to teach in the synagogue: and many hearing him
were astonished, saying, From whence hath this man
these things? and what wisdom is this which is given
unto him, that even such mighty works are wrought
by his hands?

3 Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary, the
brother of James, and Joses, and of Juda, and Simon?
and are not his sisters here with us? And they were
offended at him.

4. But Jesus said unto them, A prophet is not with-
out honour, but in his own country, and among his
own kin, and in his own house.

5 And he could there do no mighty work, save
that he laid his hands upon a few sick folk, and
healed them.

6 And he marvelled because of their unbelief.
And he went round about the villages, teaching.
