MARK IV. 21 And he said unto them, Is a candle brought to be put under a bushel, or under a bed? and not to be set on a Candlestick? 22 For there is nothing hid, which shall not be mani- fested; neither was any thing kept secret, but that it should come abroad. 23 If any man have ears to hear, let him hear. 24 And he said unto them, Take heed what ye hear: with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you: and unto you that hear shall more be given. 25 For he that hath, to him shall be given; and he that hath not, from him shall be taken even that which he hath.

LUKE VIII. 16 No man, when he hath lighted a candle, covereth it with a vessel, or putteth it under a bed; but setteth it on a candlestick, that they which enter in may see the light. 17 For nothing is secret, that shall not be made manifest; neither anything hid, that shall not be known and come abroad. 18 Take heed therefore how ye hear: for whosoever hath, to him shall be given; and whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken even that which he seemeth to have.

ഉപമകളുടെ സൂക്ഷ്മാൎത്ഥം ഇന്നതെന്നു യേശു ജനങ്ങളോടല്ല “താൻ പ്ര
ത്യേകം ആയപ്പോൾ” (മാൎക്ക. ൪, ൧൦) തന്റെ ശിഷ്യരോട് അത്രെ (൩൪)
അറിയിച്ചതു; അതോ പുരുഷാരങ്ങളെ അയച്ചിട്ടു വീട്ടിൽ വന്നശേഷം തന്നെ
(മത്ത. ൧൩, ൩൬). ആകയാൽ മേൽകാണിച്ച പ്രകാരം ഉപമകളെ എട്ടും ഒരുമി
ച്ചു കടൽപുറത്തു ഭാഷിച്ചു എന്നും, പിന്നേതിൽ ഒക്ക വീട്ടിൽ വെച്ചു വ്യാഖ്യാ
നിച്ചു കൊടുത്തു എന്നും തോന്നുന്നു. അതേ വൈകുന്നേരം യേശു ശിഷ്യരുമാ
യി തിരികെ പടകിൽ ഏറി അക്കരെക്കു യാത്രയായല്ലോ (മാൎക്ക. ൪, ൩൫). അ
തിന്നിടെ വീട്ടിലേക്കു വന്നതു (മത്ത.) ഉൗൺ കഴിക്കേണ്ടതിന്ന് ആയിരിക്കും.

മൂവരുടെ അനുഗമനഭാവവും ശിഷ്യ ലക്ഷണവൎണ്ണനയും.

MATT. VIII. 18 Now when Jesus saw great multitudes about him, he gave commandment to depart unto the other side. 19 And a certain scribe came, and said unto him, Master, I will follow thee whithersoever thou goest. 20 And Jesus saith unto him, The foxes have holes, and the birds of the air have nests; but the son of man hath mot where to lay his head.

LUKE IX. 57 And it came to pass, that, as they went in the way, a certain man said unto him, Lord, I will follow thee whithersoever thou goest. 58 And Jesus said unto him, Foxes have holes, and birds of the air have nests; but the Son of man hath not where to lay his head. 59 And he said unto another, Follow me. But he said, Lord, suffer me first to go and bury my father. 60 Jesus said unto him, Let the dead bury their dead: but go thou and preach the kingdom of God.
