amounts to 5 pct. (അരപ. f. i. അരപലിശ

fanam. Formerly for each fanam mortgage-
money the yearly interest was 1 നാഴി നെല്ലു
(= 4 pct.). പലിശമുടങ്ങിക്കിടന്നുപോയാൽ VyM.

പല്ലൻ one who has large or peculiar teeth,
often പൊക്കപ്പല്ലൻ m., പുഴുപ്പല്ലി, കൊന്ത്രം
പല്ലിച്ചി fem. etc.

പല്ലാങ്കുഴി B. a tablet with 14 holes serving

one’s own faults).
പല്ലിറുമ്മുക So. to gnash the teeth.
പല്ലിളിക്ക to grin, snarl പ’ച്ചു കാട്ടി CC., also

പല്ലുകടി gnashing — കടുകടപ്പല്ലും കടിച്ചു KR.
(in anger), പല്ലുകടിച്ചലറി AR. (in attack-
ing), പ’ക്കയും കണ്ണു ചുവക്കയും Bhr.
പല്ലു കടിപെട്ടുപോക locked jaw, f.i. in
epilepsy, with dying persons, etc.
പല്ലുകുത്തു 1. toothache = പല്ലുനോവു. 2. pick-
ing the teeth പല്കുത്തി = പല്ലിടക്കുത്തി.
3. knocking out the teeth നിന്റെ പ’ത്തി
ക്കളയും (a threat). പല്ലൊക്കയും തോക്കു
കൊണ്ടു കുത്തി TR. പല്ലൊക്കക്കുത്തി കുഴിച്ചു
TP. (to a fallen foe).
പല്ലുകൊഴിക്ക palg. jud. = പല്ലുകുത്തു 3.
