നാർ nār & നാറു 5. (നാറുക ?) 1. What is hair-like (തലനാർ), stamina of flowers, thin roots നാരും വേരും കളക; (see നാരായവേർ). 2. fibres of bark (f. i. ചടച്ചി —, ചണനാർ etc. exhib.), or coir (കെട്ടുനാർ & ഞാർകെട്ടു green palm-leaves used for tying cadjans in thatch- ing); strings in mango & other fruits; strings & ropes from fibres. 3. = ഞാറു 1. q. v. നുരി കരുനാർ തിരിഞ്ഞു വരുന്നു (Palg.) നാരൻ fibrous, hairy.
നാർപട്ടു, (B. നാരൻ പട്ടു) bark-cloth, used by some Brahmans as dinner dress after bath- ing, നാ. കെട്ടുക to wear it. (No. vu. നാറി പ്പട്ട്); also for Bengal-, China-silk, etc.

CV. നാറ്റിക്ക to spread a smell. എന്നേ നാ' ച്ചു brought me into bad repute.
നാൽ nāl, നാലു 5. (also Finn., Hung.; Esthn. neli).
